QA with me
Q: If you had one piece of advice for either new players or students wanting to progress what would it be?
Q: Who is your favourite chess player and why?
Q: What are your favourite chess openings or strategies to teach?
A: It's impossible to get good at something and look cool at the same time. Fall in love with your losses for what they are: guidelines for growth.
A: Bobby Fischer. His written analysis was engine-tight long before the dawn of computer chess and it's often overlooked how balanced a player he was. It's a marvel 'The Game of the Century' (Byrne vs Fischer 1956) and 'Placid Beauty' (Fischer vs Spassky 1972) were products of the same mind."
A: I prefer openings rich in attacking chances. The tactical minefields of open positions tend to yield the most revelations.
