The Mindful Chess Challenge is an opportunity for junior chess players to compete against other young players. It is the perfect first-time tournament for beginners who want to have a go at playing against a group of other students.
Throughout the day, there will be an exciting range of activities on offer, so that siblings and parents can get involved during and in-between rounds. In addition to free chess talks and workshops, there will be creative challenges running throughout the day.
This is more than a tournament. It's a day of chess for the whole family

make a difference
We have been inspired by Babatunde Onakoya's work promoting chess in Nigerian slum communities and therefore all proceeds of the competition will be put towards similar causes.
In 2020, we will start working with teachers in poverty-stricken areas across the globe. We want to provide these teachers with the opportunity to teach chess to children who would not otherwise have access to the game.
