Q: If you had one piece of advice for either new players or students wanting to progress what would it be?

Q: Who is your favourite chess player and why?

Q: What is the most valuable lesson chess has taught you in life?

Q: What are your favourite chess openings or strategies to teach?

A: My coaching philosophy is to prioritise pattern recognition for beginners and calculation techniques for intermediate players.

A: We build a relationship over time, which then allows me to understand the student's thinking processes, their strengths, and their weaknesses, which then allows me to individualise my coaching approach.

A: One of my students went from 1000 to 2000 tactics ELO in two years through doing 1000's of focused tactics for homework.

A: Blunder, analyse, repeat ♾️

A: Simon Williams, as he's a Wild West cowboy on the chessboard! Sacrifices galore!

A: To see every real life blunder as a learning opportunity, just like on the chessboard.

A: Kings gambit as white and the Sicilian dragon as black!
